Why We Must Rally Around Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi For President

It’s no longer news that the PDP has thrown open their presidential ticket for all regions to vie for, after the Gov. Ugwuanyi led Zoning Committee thwarted the efforts of the Northern cabals and their South western counterparts to zone it to the North.
In the light of this, most people have taunted that Igbos do not have qualified Candidates who can win the election. Surprisingly, most people with these view are Igbos who have in their mind and holier than thou thinking, disqualified all their brothers.
Despite the obvious truth that stares everyone in the eyes that Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State is the best option of ndi Igbo and even Nigeria, being the only one that commands respect and support of the oligarchs and masses in the North and Western regions and therefore stands the best chance of winning, the Igbo people are beginning to construct a dangerous narrative that seeks to validate the notion that Igbos do not like themselves.
What many wrongly describe as the “pull him down” syndrome amongst Igbos is actually the holier than thou attitude of the ordinary Igbo man. This is what makes it look like Igbos do not like themselves, because they love to see defects in their own brothers but are blind to that of others.
The argument people are pumping up that Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi hasn't made Enugu a mini London will make you to assume that those Ugwuanyi will face in the contest have made anywhere in Nigeria a mini London.
A look at those who are likely to contest against Gov. Ugwuanyi shows that Ugwuanyi is head and shoulders above them in all ramifications.
Is it Tinubu? A man who just came back from a medical trip abroad after failing to build a standard hospital that can treat him in Lagos where he has been in charge of over 22 years now that can be compared to Ugwuanyi? A man who is yet to treat himself outside Enugu State since he came into power, and has sanitised the health system, renovating, equipping and building new hospitals.
Or is it Mr. body bags El Rufai who has commissioned more graves than roads in Southern Kaduna, whose family has openly threatened an ethnic group, whose son called the situation of the igbos a sweet revenge that you can compare with Ugwuanyi whom everyone knows as a man of peace, who have ended every inter-community and inter-ethnic crises with his peace mantra?
Are we talking about Atiku? A serial loser who is so unstable in his quest for power, jumping from party to party, siding and supporting anything that would give him a chance to enter the Olympus as a Lord, One whom his former boss gave us Intel of how he can't be trusted with money? Are we to compare him with Ugwuanyi who uses the slim resources of Enugu State optimally even with the unending rise of dollar, recession, hike in price and economic hardship? A man who has managed to pay 13th Month, and has initiated the 30k minimum wage in almost all ministries and department in the state civil service.
Who is there to compare? Is it Tambuwal who out of his selfish interest, scattered the House of Reps and denied Nigerians the right to be represented for several months? Are we to compare him with Ugwuanyi? The unifier that brought Enugu State under one cool umbrella? The one whom stability, unity, peace and progress are his watchwords? A man that has so much respect for rule of law and has worked hand in glove with the judiciary and the state house of assembly.
Who is there? At the home front we only have Peter Obi who led Anambra well but has failed consecutively to win any election by himself? Are we to place him side by side with Ugwuanyi who wins with over 90% votes and enjoys support home and abroad.
Or is it H.E Hope Uzodinma, H.E Rochas Okorocha or H.E Dave Umahi? This trio cannot even walk along the street of their village without heavy joint military protection details, how can they campaign to the people that they have shown much hatred to and no single pity without receiving stones and sachet water as applause? Compared to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who enjoys a good rapport with even the youths that he fearlessly came out to them with little security (when compared to others) and addressed them peacefully.
What about Orji Uzor Kalu? A man whose name and image is very familiar at the Eagle's Office. Whose construction company slok built a road in Amodu, Umueze and Akegbe Ugwu worth Billions of Naira and it became worst than it was within 21months Compared to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, a man who the Eagle (with the greatest vision and sight) could not detect any misappropriation after 12years at the House of Reps.
Simply put, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is not just our best option, He is the ONLY viable option ndi Igbo have to clinch the Presidency.
We must put an end to the unhealthy narrative we are creating that Igbos do not have any candidate. We have a good candidate and his name is Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi. We are not saying he is holier than thou, we are saying that he is our best shot on target. Let's leave the players that are weak, injured or with yellow card and go for a good finisher, to help us score the winning goal and not always looking for an assist.
